Beyond the Barriers

By Upcoming Events

Barriers to arts funding and access are a hot topic and source of frustration and miscommunication. In an effort to break down barriers between community artists, funders and larger institutions, CJay Philip and the Beyond the Barriers Project will conduct a series of one-on-one interviews over several months with representatives of each of these three segments of the arts ecosystem (Community artists, funders and institutions). The interviews from around the country will be edited as podcasts and then shared with small peer groups. These peer groups listening sessions and discussions will also become podcast and the collective recordings will serve as audio panels open to the public for community conversation. As each topic and perspective comes to the surface the live audience at Light City Lab will have their opportunity to share their observations, perspectives and opinions which will then become part of a larger podcast recording to be Broadcast later this year.

CJay is continuing to collect interviews. If you are interested in sharing your perspective, please reach out to us at danceandbmore@gmail.com.
